What is ScaleX?

Powered by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, KAUST ScaleX is a soft-landing program that provides specialized support for innovative tech visionary startups from around the globe. This program is open to global tech startups who wish to scale their ventures and innovations into Saudi Arabia’s dynamic market.

We offer strategic support, access to state-of-the-art infrastructure and exclusive networking opportunities with Saudi Arabia’s leading government and corporate partners. Program Timeline & Duration

What is the KAUST ScaleX Program?

ScaleX is KAUST’s premier Soft-Landing Program designed to support international tech startups in expanding into Saudi Arabia’s market. It provides access to infrastructure, partnerships, and resources to scale operations.

How long does the program last?

The full program spans 8 months, including online boot camp, in-person orientation at KAUST, and ongoing support for scaling operations.

What happens after the program ends?

Participants gain long-term access to KAUST’s network and facilities, along with continued support for partnerships, networking, and funding opportunities.

What facilities and resources are available at KAUST?

Startups have access to KAUST’s world-class labs, innovation hubs, coworking spaces, and technical expertise to accelerate growth.

What support does the program provide?

Participants receive:

  • Sponsored travel and accommodation for two startup representatives (founder/co-founder/C-level).
  • Co-working space in KAUST and Riyadh
  • Mentorship and regulatory support.
  • Access to labs and innovation facilities.
  • Networking opportunities with investors and partners.

Will I receive funding through the program?

While the program does not directly fund startups, it facilitates introductions to investors and funding partners to support growth.

When does the application period open and close?

  • Applications open on February 26, 2025.
  • The deadline to apply is April 1, 2025.

Who is eligible to apply?

Startups must meet the following criteria:

  • Raised Series B funding or equivalent.
  • Established for at least two years.
  • Ready for commercial deployment.
  • No existing offices in Saudi Arabia but interested in regional expansion.
  • Operate in sectors like AI, AgriTech, Biotech, Cybersecurity, Renewable Energy, or Robotics.
